Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Loomi ([email protected]) collects when you use the Loomi app or the loomi.fyi website, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have over it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we do not sell your personal data, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
What we collect in the app
- Account data. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and the name associated with that account. This is stored with our authentication and database provider, Supabase, and is used to create and identify your account. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only ever see the relay address Apple generates.
- Learning progress. Your study activity — answers to practice questions, flashcard reviews, streaks, XP, and exam readiness — is stored against your account so your progress syncs across sessions and devices.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to record in-app events (for example: screens viewed, features used, quiz sessions started) along with device information such as model, OS version, and app version. We use this to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
- Purchase data. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements, which means we receive transaction metadata — product purchased, purchase and expiry dates, price, and an anonymised transaction identifier. We never see or store your payment card details; Apple handles all payment processing.
What we collect on loomi.fyi
If you join the launch email list, we store your email address and basic signup context as described in our Terms & Privacy notice for the email list. Anonymised page-view counts are collected via Vercel Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics, neither of which uses cookies or fingerprinting. The site is hosted on Vercel, and fonts are served from Google Fonts; both receive your IP address as part of serving the page, as any web host does.
How we use your data
- To create and operate your account and sync your study progress.
- To verify your subscription or purchase and unlock the content you paid for.
- To understand how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
We do not sell, rent, or licence your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers as data processors, acting under our direction and their own published privacy terms:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — authentication and database hosting for account data and learning progress.
- PostHog (posthog.com) — product analytics.
- RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — subscription and entitlement management.
- Apple (apple.com) — payment processing and App Store distribution.
- Vercel (vercel.com) — hosting and anonymised analytics for loomi.fyi.
- Ahrefs (ahrefs.com) — cookieless, anonymised analytics for loomi.fyi.
None of these providers has the right to use your personal data for their own independent purposes beyond what is required to provide their service to us.
Data retention
We keep your account data and learning progress for as long as your account exists, so your history is there when you come back. Analytics events are retained by PostHog under our project settings and used in aggregate. Transaction records are retained as long as needed to honour your purchases and meet accounting obligations. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data we hold about you within 30 days, except where a legal obligation requires us to keep specific records longer.
Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. We will action this within 30 days.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account. Subscription cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple through your App Store account settings.
Children
Loomi is a professional exam-preparation tool intended for adults preparing for the journeyman electrician exam. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored with providers that maintain industry-standard security controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is less to protect in the first place.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email to your registered address.
